Teflon Piston & Barrel

In the 1980s the Teflon piston was designed for sausage applications. The piston restrains friction which imporves the bead output, especially when obtaining a new grip on the drive. It applies a thin film of Teflon on the barrel, making it easier to strip the sausage skin from the sides of the barrel. WHile leather is the "best" material for bulk applications, the Teflon piston is the only plastic which will not swell or degrade when subjected to harsh solvents.

The Teflon barrel was introduced in 2007, long after the Teflon piston. As the next step of continued improvements, the Teflon barrel reduces piston friction, thus improving how your application appears. Like the Teflon piston, the Teflon barrel improves clean-up, and it is recommended for bulk and sausage applications.
